Bettles Air is owned and operated by Dan and Lynda Klaes. We own and
operate the Bettles Lodge and the Aurora Lodge in Bettles, Alaska as well.
We have owned Bettles Lodge since 1982 and have been providing wilderness
adventures for the Arctic traveler ever since. Dan Klaes has over 20,000 flight
hours in his 40 years of flying. Dan has been flying commercially in Alaska for
30 years operating a multitude of aircraft from single engine float and wheel
planes to large multi-engine turbine powered aircraft across the state.
Dan's aviation experience is well recognized statewide and he is on the
Aviation Advisory Board for the Governor of Alaska. Bettles Air is
certified and approved by the US Department of Aircraft Services allowing us to
fly for the various government agencies and their staff. Lynda has been putting
together wilderness adventures for our guests for over 20 years. She to is a
licensed pilot so she understands aviation. Her attention to detail in managing
our Lodges in Bettles has made us not only a great way to get there but a first
class place to stay as well. Our son Tyler grew up in Bettles and has carried
on the family tradition and is a pilot in his own right. He has a vast
knowledge of the Brooks Range and our guests have enjoyed his expertise in making
their wilderness adventure a safe memorable experience. Our daughter Jamie is a
licensed pilot as well and has helped with lodge management and guest services
for many years. Her smile and great demeanor makes everyone feel at home.
Our Chief Pilot, Lance Carey, has been with Bettles Air for over ten years. His
aviation background of over 30 years of Alaska flying and his enjoyment of the
passengers we fly is wonderful. His loves to share his knowledge of the Brooks
Range as well as the entire state of Alaska. Bettles Air is licensed by the
Federal Aviation Administration and is fully insured. Our number one priority
at Bettles Air is to provide safe, dependable and enjoyable transportation for
our clients. When you fly with Bettles air you get the advantage of over 100
years of combined aviation experience. Welcome Aboard!
